LINCOLN PARK — Lincoln Park recognizes its very best with the neighborhood's inaugural Top 10 Awards Monday.
Sponsored by the Lincoln Park Chamber of Commerce, the awards, presented Monday evening at Steppenwolf Theatre, 1650 N. Halsted St., will honor local merchants in eight different categories, as well as two Neighborhood Champions.
The biweekly Green City Market will be cited as one of those Neighborhood Champions, in the category honoring "a nonprofit organization, business or cause that has made a positive impact within the Lincoln Park community."
Kenneth Dotson, president of the Lincoln Central Association, will be named the other Neighborhood Champion as "a resident within the Lincoln Park neighborhood that has made a positive impact through his or her actions within the community."
The eight categories for merchants include best place to dine, best place for coffee & sweets, best place to get fit and refreshed, best place for brunch, best place to grab a drink, best arts & culture, best service provider and best place to shop.
The awards begin with a pre-show reception at 5 p.m. Tickets at $45 were available online at the chamber website and will be available at the door.
