Hyde Park Robbery Suspect Sketch Released

HYDE PARK — The U.S. Postal Service Inspection Service released a sketch Thursday of the man believed to be behind an attack on two postal workers.

The sketch shows a man between 35-40 years old, with a close-cropped beard and a black hat with a do-rag underneath who allegedly attacked and tried to rob two postal workers between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. Sept. 1 at 5480 S. Harper Ave.

The Postal Service is offering a $20,000 reward for anyone that provides information that leads to an arrest and conviction.

The man is also described as weighing between 275 and 300 pounds and approximately six feet tall.

Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to call Postal Inspectors at 312-983-7909 or 877-876-2455 or police at 312-747-8384.
