GLADSTONE PARK — A series of events in Far Northwest Side parks will help residents celebrate the end of summer.
Events taking place at Far Northwest Side parks through the end of September include:
• Tunes for Tiny Tots: A music festival for toddlers will give tiny people a chance to dance, play, and meet live animals from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday at Gladstone Park, 5421 N. Menard Ave.
• 'Shaun the Sheep': The final movie in the park of the summer will take place at 8 p.m. at Olypmia Park, 6566 N. Avondale Ave. "Shaun the Sheep" details the adventures of a flock that ends up lost in a big city and forced to find its way home.
• Where in the World: Attendees can celebrate Grandparents' Day from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Grandparents Playlot, 5445 N. Chester St., with a trip around the world. Art projects will celebrate Africa, Asia, Australia and the Americas, organizers said.
• Sit Back And Enjoy the Show: A performance by the Urban Gateways touring company designed to expose young people and families to diverse cultural and artistic experiences will take place from 5:45-6:45 p.m. Sunday at Grandparents Playlot, 5445 N. Chester St.
• Under the Big Top: Midnight Circus will perform its 10th anniversary show at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Sept. 24-25 at Oriole Park, 5430 N. Olcott Ave. Tickets for the high-flying show are $5-$20. Children age 2 or younger can get in for free.
