Man Shot at Citgo Station Near St. Margaret of Scotland, Police Say

WASHINGTON HEIGHTS — A 21-year-old man was sitting in the passenger seat of a car at 9:35 p.m. Saturday when someone walked up and shot at him in Washington Heights, police said.

The car was leaving the Citgo station at 9906 S. Vincennes Ave. — less than a block east of St. Margaret of Scotland Parish, a clerk at the station confirmed Monday morning.

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he was listed in serious condition with a gunshot wound in his back, police said.

Twenty-seven people were shot, three fatally, in different parts of the city between Saturday morning and Sunday morning, police said.
