BRIDGEPORT — The mural on the side of Phil's Pizza started as a sketch in black and white.

Now it has exploded with color.Demolition crews recently knocked down the building next to Phil's Pizza, exposing a brick wall canvas at 1102 W. 35th St. Phil's owner Tony Marotta has commissioned a new mural to catch the attention of passers-by rolling or walking down 35th Street.

Still a work in progress, the mural will feature buildings inspired by the marvelous architecture in Florence, Italy.
