PORTAGE PARK — Ald. Gilbert Villegas (36th) will join county and state officials to host a workshop to help homeowners appeal their property tax assessments.

Representatives of the Cook County Board of Review will be on hand at 6 p.m. Wednesday to give a presentation and answer questions at Liberty Christian Center, 5447 W. Addison St.

Attendees should bring government-issued photo identification and their most recent property tax bill.

Homeowners in Jefferson Park Township, which includes most of the Far Northwest Side, have until Aug. 15 to file an appeal of their property taxes, officials said.
