RAVENSWOOD — Ampersand Wine Bar is celebrating its first anniversary with a little help from its neighborhood friends.

Businesses up and down Damen Avenue — from Bang Bang Pie to Amy's Candy Bar — are taking part in Amperbash, billed as a "sip and stroll street fest,' 5-9 p.m., June 24.

Tickets cost $30 if purchased in advance (click here) or $35 at the door; 21 and over only. Admission includes food, music and two wine tastings at each participating business.

The event is centered at Ampersand, 4845 N. Damen Ave., and spills over to One Key Yoga, Alapash, Gallery 19 and Sfizi Shoe (home base for the Delicious Shoe truck), all of which will be serving wines selected by Ampersand owner Darren McGraw.

Nosh on bites at Ampersand, Bang Bang Pie, Amy's Candy Bar and Groundswell Coffee Roasters, which will also have a specialty coffee cocktail. District is pitching in with a one-day sidewalk sale.
