HYDE PARK — Don’t try to park anywhere close to the University of Chicago’s Law School on Thursday while the president is visiting.

The university said parking won’t be permitted anywhere close to the law school, 1111 E. 60th St., while Barack Obama is there talking about the U.S. Supreme Court and his pick of Merrick Garland to replace Justice Antonin Scalia.

There will be no parking all day Thursday between 59th to 61st streets and between Ellis and Woodlawn avenues.

Cars parked in that area will be towed.

Pedestrian access will also be limited around the law school on Thursday.

The event with the president is closed to the public, but the university will webcast the event on its web site.
