EDGEBROOK — The Edgebrook Elementary Local School Council will host a forum to give residents of the 15th District in the Illinois House a chance to quiz the candidates running in the March primary election about their education policies.

The forum is scheduled to take place from 7-8 p.m. Thursday in the cafeteria of Edgebrook Elementary School, 6525 N. Hiawatha Ave. Representatives of the Sauganash and Wildwood elementary schools have been invited to participate, organizers said.

The questions will focus on public education and school funding issues, said David Klevatt, a member of the Edgebrook Elementary Local School Council.

Jac Charlier, who co-founded the Fair Allocation in Runways Coalition to fight O'Hare jet noise, is challenging State Rep. John D'Amico's bid for re-election in the Democratic primary.

Jonathan Edelman is running unopposed in the Republican primary.

D'Amico was not expected to attend the forum, since the General Assembly is in session in Springfield this week. He has also missed forums hosted by community organizations in Sauganash and Mayfair.

Each candidate will have a few minutes to make a statement before fielding questions submitted by the audience, Klevatt said.

The election takes place March 15.
