Sauganash Park to Get Improvements with Coca-Cola Money

SAUGANASH — Sauganash Park has been named as one of several city parks to share in money donated by Coca-Cole, the Chicago Park District announced Monday.

The Coca-Cola Company and Great Lakes Coca-Cola Distribution, LLC will spend $250,000 in capital projects and programming at parks throughout the city in 2016, the park district said. 

Amonf the project listed was $60,000 in funding for additional outdoor space for visitors of Sauganash Park, 5861 N. Kostner Ave.

“From improvements to the Lakefront trail, fitness centers and tennis courts, to the support of important community programs, Coca-Cola has made a significant commitment to strengthening our communities through the Chicago Park District,” Parks Superintendent Michael P. Kelly said in a statement.

In addition to the Sauganash Park:

Another $75,000 in funding from  Coca-Cola Company will be used to support various park programs across the city, including the Fit Box program, Summer Fitness Fests and the Citywide Championship for the Summer Basketball League.
