EDGEWATER — Are you an Edgewater superfan? If so, here's your chance to make your very literal mark on the neighborhood, while supporting local parks.

As the Senn Park Advisory Council continues its efforts to raise money for the upcoming transformation of Senn Park, they're now offering customizable, engraved bricks a la Wrigley Field that residents can buy and will be placed in the park.

For $75, people get an 8-by-4-inch brick that includes three lines of text, with up to 18 characters per line. Up that to $200, and buyers get an 8-by-8-inch brick with six lines of 18-character text.

The park development group and Chicago Parks Foundation have been spearheading initiatives to upgrade the parks associated with nearby Senn like the playlot on Elmdale Avenue, the turf fields and courts along Ridge Avenue, the courtyard area with the Abraham Lincoln statue and community garden since early this year.

The group advertises the bricks are perfect for loved ones, families, dedications and even accept donations in exchange for a blank brick.
