AVONDALE — Local fast food company Pockets closed its Avondale restaurant Tuesday.

The eatery announced the closure on Saturday, but promised to do its best to provide delivery service to customers in the area near the shuttered shop, 3927 W. Belmont Ave.

Delivery orders can still be made online, but will be fulfilled from the Lakeview location, 3001 N. Lincoln Ave.

Pockets has six locations in Chicago and two in Aurora. The fast casual restaurant specializes in stuffed pita pockets, calzones, pizza and baked potatoes. It first opened in Lincoln Park in 1989.
