CHICAGO — Man's best friend will become man's first mate Thursday.
Dog owners get the chance to cruise with their pet thanks to an event from the Anti-Cruelty Society.
From 6:30 to 8 p.m., the Mercury Skyline Cruiseline will set sail with its season-inaugural Canine Cruise, with proceeds benefiting the Gold Coast shelter.
Tickets are $40 per person, and leashed dogs are free.
The cruise will feature a live tour of Chicago history and architecture, "with dog-friendly highlights."
Owners are asked to arrive at 112 E. Upper Wacker Drive at 6 p.m.
