GLADSTONE PARK — The Stars and Stripes will be flying high at a Flag Day ceremony set for Friday, organizers said.

The Taft High School Reserve Officers Training Corps will participate in the ceremony at the Milwaukee, Elston and Melvina avenue plaza, said Katie Rottman, the executive director of the Gladstone Park Chamber of Commerce.

The chamber maintains an American flag, a flag honoring prisoners of war and an Illinois flag at the plaza which was recently officially renamed to honor Frederic Chopin, the famed Polish composer.

The ceremony will start at noon, Rottman said.
