"Thanks to Billy for giving these spunky, adorable cats a second chance at life. Here's to many years of great memories!" read the post.

Though PAWS has a location at 1997 N. Clybourn Ave. in Lincoln Park, Corgan adopted the cats from the suburban Highland Park/Petco location, according to the Smashing Pumpkins Twitter feed.

Corgan also took to Twitter to celebrate the adoptions, and lament the loss of his cat Sammi.

Corgan, who grew up in Sauganash, drew a lot of media attention in 2014 when he appeared on the cover of PAWS magazine cradling two black kittens under the headline "Billy Corgan's Siamese Dream."
