PIONEER COURT — A new pool Downtown is rather shallow.

Because it's fake.

The U.S.A. Swimming Foundation is painting a pool in Pioneer Court, 401 N. Michigan Ave., this week to promote swimming. The piece should be done by Friday, representatives in the Downtown plaza said Tuesday evening.

From afar the temporary display looks like the real deal, offering desk-tied office workers nearby a reminder summer is here. Just don't try to dive in.
