Selfie Sticks, Drugs Not Allowed at Lollapalooza

March 25, 2015 12:32pm | Updated March 25, 2015 12:32pm

GRANT PARK — Perhaps to the chagrin of headliner Sir Paul McCartney, who claims he invented the selfie, selfie sticks will not be allowed at Lollapalooza.

The annual summer music festival in Grant Park is the latest institution to ban the photo apparatus, which has also been shut out of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Smithsonian, among other places.

After Lollapalooza tickets sold out in mere minutes, now may be a good time to tell festival-goers what else is prohibited in the park when Black Tiger Sex Machine, among other acts, hit the stage:

•Weapons

•Explosives

•Controlled substances

•Framed backpacks

•Professional recording equipment

•Glass containers and metal aerosol cans, including sunscreen spray
