Simeon To Host Celebrity Basketball Game

Simeon Career Academy is hosting a celebrity basketball game on March 6. Chicago Bulls star and Simeon alum Derrick Rose has been invited to play.

WEST CHATHAM — The Simeon Alumni Association and Simeon Career Academy are putting on a celebrity basketball game next month.

The team consists of Chicago native and comedian Marlon Mitchell, WGCI-FM radio personality Leon Rogers, Arthur Agee from the documentary "Hoop Dreams" and more. The school is seeking more players.

The game will be at Simeon, 8141 S. Vincennes Ave., at 6 p.m. March 6. Simeon Coach Robert Smith will be honored. Among the special guests invited to play are Simeon alums and noted NBA players Derrick Rose, Jabari Parker, Nick Anderson and Bobby Simmons.
