PORTAGE PARK — The second annual Festival of the Arts will showcase local artists and raise money for Portage Park Elementary School, organizers said.
The festival is scheduled to take place from 5-8 p.m. March 5 at Portage Park Elementary School, 5330 W. Berteau Ave., organizers said.
The event is being put together by Portage Park Helping Hands, a parent group.
Art, music and theatre from the students of Portage Park Elementary School as well as from local artists will be showcased at the event, which will raise money for the school's art department.
Organizers are asking local businesses to support the school's arts program by donating classes or tickets for the event.
More than 400 people attended the first festival last year, organizers said.
