AUBURN GRESHAM — In honor of Black History Month, St. Sabina Church has invited author Cornel West to visit during an upcoming Sunday Mass.

The church, at 1210 W. 78th Place, launched an African-American speaker series last month, with Harry Lennix, a Chicago-born actor best known for his performance in the film "The Five Heartbeats," kicking it off. Lennix currently has a role in the NBC drama "The Blacklist."

At 11:15 a.m. Feb. 22, West will address the St. Sabina congregation.

West is an American philosopher, author and intellectual. He holds an undergraduate degree from Harvard University and a doctorate from Princeton University.
