CHICAGO — Green Line riders, take notice.

As part of an ongoing effort to build the new Cermak-McCormick Place train station, service will be halted between the Roosevelt and 35th-Bronzeville-IIT stations from 1:40 a.m.-11:40 a.m Saturday and Sunday.

Affected riders can hop on a free shuttle bus between the two stations, according to the CTA. Transfers will also be free.

The CTA encourages train riders to allow for extra travel time.

If weather allows for it, Green Line trains between Roosevelt and 35th-Bronzeville-IIT stations will be suspended at the same time the weekend of Jan. 3-4, the CTA wrote in an alert.

Crews have been working on the $50 million construction project since last fall.

The new Cermak-McCormick Place train station will have elevators, bike racks, state-of-the-art security, enclosed boarding platforms and three entrances.
