CHICAGO — A downtown protest Friday evening was the latest in a series of people protesting the chokehold death of a New York man at the hands of a police officer since Thursday evening. Sixteen people were arrested, police said.

Hundreds of protestors flooded downtown streets Thursday evening, attempting to get on the Dan Ryan Expy., and the Polish Triangle in Wicker Park saw more than two dozen protestors Friday morning.

Protestors returned downtown Friday afternoon, stopping at Daley Plaza to make speeches, and are now continuing to chant and march the streets expressing outrage at the death of Eric Garner, and the lack of an indictment of the police officer who killed him.

In all, 16 people were arrested during Friday's ongoing protests.
