CHICAGO — For the first time since 2010, a Chicago restaurant aside from Alinea was given three coveted Michelin stars.

Grace, 652 W. Randolph St., celebrated their three star win in a video posted by Kevin Pang of the Tribune on Twitter Tuesday.

Janet Fuller explains how the Michelin Guide got started and what the stars signify:

Grace is the brainchild of former Alinea chef de cuisine Curtis Duffy, who was bummed when he missed the Michelin call about his two stars last year — just 11 months after opening the spot.

"It’s kind of saddening. It’s like taking Christmas away from a child," Duffy said at the time.

This year, however, he looked pretty happy.
