Radio Extra: Middle School Proud of Progress Despite Funding Cuts

MCKINLEY PARK — It's a bit of a mixed bag for Evergreen Middle School. 

Their energetic principal Marian Strok's contract was renewed for four more years by the local school council, a sign that they're pleased with the direction Strok has taken the school for the previous eight years. 

On the other hand, Evergreen has seen dips in enrollment in recent years. This year, it lost about 20 students. And when funding is based on enrollment, 20 students makes a difference — the school lost an algebra teacher because of funding cuts this year.
