BRIDGEPORT — At 55 cents per ounce, patrons of YouYo can fill up on all the frozen yogurt and toppings they can squeeze into a round cardboard container.

The colorful shop opened last week at 3119 S. Halsted St., right across from the Chicago Police Department's Deering District headquarters.

On offer will be a rotating roster of different flavors, including plain, coconut, strawberry, chocolate, mango, vanilla, peach, pineapple and cake batter, which employees say has been popular with little kids.

Customers can select one of several sizes of containers, then help themselves to a pull from one of the churning yogurt machines and visit the nearby toppings bar, a smorgasbord of candy, nuts, fresh fruit and tapioca "for a hint of Asian," said employee Eric Liang.

The WiFi-enabled shop has a handful of tables and stools and a private party room with seating for about 25.

The store is open from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. daily. For a limited time, YouYo is offering customers a free pineapple pastry with any purchase.
