UPTOWN — The pop-up dinner series that Granja Urbana had been selling tickets for at $100 a pop is now offering a two-for-one special with all proceeds benefiting an organization that teaches kids in poor communities how to cook healthy meals.

Chef Diana Davila's five-dinner series aims to preview and refine the upscale menu she'll present to patrons when the Mexican farm-to-table restaurant, Cantina De la Granja, opens in the former T's Bar later this year.

The first dinner, with a "street fare" theme, is slated for Wednesday at Bulthaup Studios, 315 W. Superior Ave., in partnership with Common Threads, which is receiving all proceeds to help fund its programs.

The organization teaches kids "living in underserved communities how to cook wholesome, healthy meals," according to its website.
