HYDE PARK — The gardeners from the South Shore Hospitality Garden will host a fundraiser on Saturday to restore their lost mural.

From 2-5 p.m., Give Me Some Sugah, 2234 E. 71st St., will host a jazz lunch in support of the neighborhood garden.

On May 3, mural at the garden at 75th and Coles was destroyed after the stucco was damaged and the owner had to remove the wall to repair the damage.

“When the mural came down that was overlooking the original garden, We Mean Green Peace Garden, it was imperative that another mural go up,” garden founder Mary Steenson said.

Tickets for the lunch and concert are $30 and will go toward replacing the mural by artist Desi Mundo.

Mundo recently completed a second mural at the garden that was to be a companion piece to the destroyed painting.
