CHICAGO — A Bronzeville woman was charged with murder after allegedly stabbing the father of her child Thursday, police said.

Tinesha Brooks, 26, was charged with first-degree murder after she allegedly stabbed Maurice Paschal, also 26, during an altercation in the 3900 block of South Indiana Avenue.

Police responded to a call in the 3900 block of South Indiana Avenue about 11:18 p.m. Thursday and found the Paschal had been stabbed, said Officer Ron Gaines, a police spokesman.

Paschal, who lived in the 4000 block of South Michigan Avenue, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 12:27 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
