CHICAGO — Avoid hump day boredom with classes, comedy and music going on in the neighborhood.

Hands-on

Plants Without Dirt at Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, 2430 N. Cannon Drive, 6-7:30 p.m.

Greek Cooking at Whole Foods, 1550 N. Kingsbury St., 7-8 p.m.

Steve Strompolos, of Strompolos Foods, will give a lesson in how to make classic Greek chicken and potatoes. Reserve a spot online for $10.

Comedy

Comedy Night at The Apartment, 2251 N. Lincoln Ave., 8:30 p.m.

The night will feature Will "Spank" Horton of Kevin Hart's Plastic Cup Boyz and the show "Nick Cannon Presents: Wild 'N Out." DJ Fresh Eighty Three will provide the music. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door.
