CHICAGO — On Tuesday, test your "Madden NFL" gaming skills and try to meet Lance Briggs at Best Buy, catch a local cooking class at Whole Foods or see a comedy show at Zanies.

Gaming tournament

Ultimate Gamers Showdown at Best Buy, 1000 W. North Ave., 5-10 p.m.

Up to 64 people can register to compete in an amateur "Madden NFL 25" gaming tournament at select Best Buy locations around the country. Gamers will compete on the new PlayStation 4 for prizes and have a chance to meet Bears linebacker Lance Briggs (the first 250 people get autographs, according to an event description from Best Buy). No purchase or entry free is required, according to Best Buy, but those who compete must be 18 or older.

The winner in each city heads to Dallas to compete in the finals on Dec. 16 and gets a $1,000 Best Buy gift card. The runner-up will receive a $500 gift card. More information is available via the store's website.

Cooking class

Greek Cooking at Whole Foods, 1550 N. Kingsbury St., 7-8 p.m.

Steve Strompolos of Strompolos Foods will offer some tips in making Greek Salad and give a lesson about the history of feta cheese and kalamata olives in Greek culture. Those interested can register online for $10.

Comedy

Patti Vasquez at Zanies, 1548 N. Wells St., 8:30 p.m. (also performing Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights).

Chicago comedian Patti Vasquez, who has appeared on shows such as the OWN network's “My Life Is A Joke” and TBS' "The Very Funny Show," among others, performs at Zanies from Tuesday through Sunday. Tickets are $25 plus two minimum orders of food or drinks.
