CHICAGO — Cops said they are looking for the men who robbed two businesses in Greater Grand Crossing, one of which resulted in 73-year-old bystander being shot in the leg.
Police initially said a 72-year-old man was shot in the leg as a business was robbed by three men in the 200 block of East 69th Street about 12:30 p.m. Monday. On Tuesday, police said the man is 73, and the robery was committed by two men.
The wounded man was taken in good condition to Stroger Hospital, police said.
Cops issued an alert warning businesses about Monday's robbery along with an armed heist that happened in the 100 block of East 69th Street on July 10 about 11:10 a.m. The alert said detectives are looking for two or three men.
The men went into the businesses with their faces hidden, pulled out a silver handgun and demanded money along with other items, according to to the alert.
The robbers were described in the alert as black men ages 18-29 with a heigh of 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-11.
