ROGERS PARK — Five months after beloved principal Carolyn Eggert left to lead a magnet school, Sullivan High School will soon have a permanent replacement, a source confirmed.

Local School Council member Terry Moran said he and his colleagues voted Tuesday to offer the job to Chad Adams, the assistant principal at Harper High School in the city's Englewood neighborhood.

Moran said Adams had accepted the offer, but was waiting for final clearance from Chicago Public Schools to make the move final.

Adams would replace current interim principal Richard Smith, a retired CPS principal and administrator.

Smith replaced Eggert after she suddenly left Sullivan High School, at 6631 N. Bosworth Ave., in January, only a year and a half after she was appointed. She left to take the top job at DeVry Advantage Academy High School on the Northwest Side.
