LOGAN SQUARE — Just a month after announcing plans to open a chicken and fish joint in Humboldt Park, it looks like the team behind Longman & Eagle have something else up their sleeves.

Land and Sea Dept., a development firm made up of Cody Hudson, Robert McAdams and Peter Toalson of Longman & Eagle and the Empty Bottle, and Jon Martin of Mode Carpentry, are looking to open a bar in the old Ronny's punk club space at 2101 N. California Ave., according to a zoning change application.

The partners are planning to rehab the building with outer siding, and refurbish the interior with a bar on the north side and additional seating in a triangular section — or point — of the building created by the meeting of California Avenue and Henry Court, application documents show.

The working name of the 3,200-square-foot bar is California Point.

None of the partners could immediately be reached for comment Friday evening, and a spokesman for the group said he could not provide any additional details.

Longman & Eagle has received the Michelin star for three years in a row and is working on opening Parson's Chicken & Fish at Armitage Avenue and Humboldt Boulevard this spring.

Ronny's, a run-down punk music mainstay, closed in 2010.
