ROGERS PARK — Charmers Cafe, a 7-year-old morning coffee joint in Jarvis Square, plans to close its doors next Sunday.

And the owners of Taste Food and Wine, just down the street, plan to reopen a similar restaurant in its place.

"Initially we’re going to continue to do coffee. Eventually we’re going to turn it into a wine bar," said Sandra Carter, a part owner of Taste, a fine wine shop at 1506 N. Jarvis Ave.

Charmers Cafe owner Dan Sullivan, who will continue to own the building, said he'll close the doors to the cafe March 24.

"The people who are going to put in the new restaurant in there are just great people — they're great restaurant people."

He added: "I’m not really a restaurant guy."

Carter said the new restaurant, which should open within a couple of months, would serve salads, sandwiches and eventually wine.

She and the other owners had not decided on a name for the new restaurant.
