CHICAGO — Cook County Sheriff’s Eviction Unit deputies found a three-foot Burmese python during a court-ordered eviction of a Bronzeville apartment Tuesday morning, Sheriff Tom Dart said in a news release.

About 8:40 a.m., deputies at the apartment in the 500 block of East Bowen Avenue in Chicago discovered the python in an aquarium located in a bedroom, according to the sheriff.

The apartment was unoccupied at the time, the release said.

The City of Chicago Animal Control was called and removed the snake, the release said.

No injuries to the deputies or the snake were reported.
