CHICAGO — The Bank of America Chicago Marathon received 36,000 entries in its lottery for 15,000 remaining spots in the race, the organization says.

Those randomly selected will be notified by 2 p.m. Tuesday and have until Thursday to complete registration, according to the Marathon.

Registration was closed completely Feb. 19 when the organization's web site experienced technical issues. Even though the site had been live for less than a day, 30,000 runners were able to successfully register.
