CHICAGO — Mayor Rahm Emanuel did not have any public events scheduled for Tuesday — possibly because he was called for jury duty.

Emanuel used Foursquare to check in to the Daley Center Tuesday morning.

"Performing my civic duty for the American judicial system. #juryduty," he posted.

His office later tweeted a photo of him "waiting patiently to be called in to a jury panel."
