CHICAGO — Multiple sources are reporting that the NHL and its players union have reached a tentative agreement to end a months-long lockout Sunday morning.
NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman and NHL Executive Director Donald Fehr agreed to the deal at about 4:40 a.m. Eastern time, according to NHL.com.
The season would start before Jan. 20, according to multiple sources, including the Chicago Tribune.
The lockout began on Sept. 15 and wiped out the league's All-Star Game and Winter Classic. A lockout canceled the entire 1994-1995 season.
