Fort Defiance Cafe and Bar on Van Brunt Street in Red Hook hosts a pig roast Wednesday, Nov. 21, at 3 p.m.
Owner St. John Frizell and chef Steve Linares have been roasting the pig — a 130-pound swine from Pino's Prime Meat Market — since Tuesday, using an 84-inch Lang trailer-smoker on loan from the owners of Hometown restaurant.
Sandwiches cost $6, and plates with corn bread, red beans and greens cost $14.
A free Ikea shuttle will ferry patrons to the "Musical Extravaganza to Restore Red Hook," taking place at 7 p.m. at The Bell House in Gowanus.
