The New York Restoration Project will host its fourth, and final, tree giveaway this year on Staten Island at Snug Harbor Cultural Center.

The giveaways have been part of the NYRP's MillionTreesNYC project.

To receive a tree, property owners can register in advance, typically two weeks before the event. If registration is full, a limited quantity of trees will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis.

A NYRP representative at the event will give tips on how to plant and care for the tree.

The NYRP requires the owner to promise to plant the tree in one of the five boroughs, keep it properly watered and maintained, and to not plant them along streets, in city parks, in containers, terraces, balconies or roofs before they receive their tree.
