Fordham University hosts a day of events April 6 celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Bronx African American History Project. First, a conference will showcase the work of prominent historians, journalists and community organizers. Admission is free, but RSVP is required.

Next, the university will host an evening of film and musical performances, including jazz master Jimmy Owens and his band, hip-hop artists Circa 95 and Rebel Diaz, and a screening of the documentary "I love the Bronx: The Musical Life of Dr. Valerie Capers." Admission is free, but RSVP is required.
