The selection of Major League Baseball cards taken from the Jefferson R. Burdick Collection represents the time when segregation began to break down in the world of baseball. The collection is composed of more than 30,000 cards dating from 1887-1959, and is recognized as the most comprehensive collection of Major League Baseball cards aside from that of the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY.
