Shaye Weaver is a reporter/producer, covering the Upper East Side.

Prior to joining DNAinfo New York, Shaye was a general assignment reporter for The East Hampton Press and The Southampton Press on Long Island for four and half years. While in the Hamptons, she covered crime, local and regional government and politics, education, arts and business. Additionally, she took photos at several galas, often attended by A-list celebrities.

In 2014, she won a first place award in spot new coverage at the New York Press Association Contest and a first place award for a feature photo.

Originally from Metro Atlanta, Shaye interned at Southern Distinction Magazine, writing about restaurants and businesses in the Athens, Georgia area, and in 2010, she graduated from the University of Georgia’s Grady School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

Shaye lives in Prospect Park South with her tuxedo cat, Charlie.

Fun Fact: During her four and half years living in the Hamptons, she never once swam in the ocean.
