WEST VILLAGE — Actress Ellen Barkin came face to face with a burglar lurking on the balcony of her West Village home, law-enforcement sources said.
But what really annoyed the Bronx-born movie star was the way NYPD investigators handled the incident.
She tweeted her disappointment to the police commissioner.
"The Big Easy" star spotted the man outside her third-floor balcony near West 12th Street and Sixth Avenue around 6:50 a.m. Wednesday, sources said.
Barkin, 63, proceeded to lock the door on the suspect, leading the burglar to hop down onto a fire escape before fleeing, sources noted.
No property appeared to have been taken, but a bag and jewelry seemed to be in a different location inside the house, sources said.
No arrests had been made as of Thursday, and the suspect was described as weighing about 150 pounds, according to police.
