WILLIAMSBURG — A driver died after crashing his car into a concrete barrier near an exit of the Williamsburg Bridge, officials said.
Jean Caliste, 29, of Jamiaca Hills, was driving off the Williamsburg Bridge on the Brooklyn side at around 3 a.m. Wednesday morning when he lost control of his 2017 Ford Fusion near the intersection of South Fifth and Havemeyer streets, slamming into a concrete barrier and causing the car to flip over, police and sources said.
Emergency workers rushed to the scene and took Caliste and a female passenger in the car to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The 26-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries in the crash, police said.
