MANHATTAN —NYPD Harbor units responded to bomb threat made to the Statue of Liberty Wednesday morning that was later deemed to be a hoax, according to police.

The call was made to U.S. Parks Police, the law enforcement wing of the National Parks Service, stating there was a bomb at Lady Liberty sometime around 6 a.m., the NYPD said.

NYPD Harbor Patrol units responded and found no explosives there, police said. The site was not open to the public at the time.

It wasn't immediately clear who called in the threat or if any arrests were made.

The National Park Service couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
