MIDTOWN — An Uber driver was stabbed in a busy Midtown corridor Thursday afternoon during a road rage incident, officials and witnesses said.

The driver was dropping off a passenger on West 50th Street, near Seventh Avenue, around 3:49 p.m., when he got into a dispute with a van driver, FDNY and NYPD officials said.

The Uber driver, a man around 24 years old, was stabbed once in the left forearm, according to the NYPD.

The victim was transported to Mt. Sinai West hospital, an NYPD spokeswoman said. She added that the victim did not suffer life-threatening injuries.

One witness, a 27-year-old Brooklyn resident who would not give his name, said he saw the attacker lean into the window of the silver SUV the victim was driving and stab him.

"Half his body was in the window," the witness said, adding that the victim got out of the SUV after the attacker ran off and asked for him to call 911.

"There was blood everywhere. He was dizzy," said the witness who then saw the attacker coming back toward them before getting into a van and driving off. "The guy still had the knife in his hand."

Police said they were looking for a man who fled in a gray van.

Lee Im, 43, who works at a Pret a Manger at the intersection said he saw the victim standing on the sidewalk and holding his arm while he spoke with police.

The man was using tissues to try and stop the bleeding on his arm, said Im, who added that he "removed the bloody tissues" from the sidewalk after the man got into an ambulance.

Officials did not have further information about the the suspect.
