MIDTOWN — Police are looking for a man they said jumped off a bike and slashed another man across the chest with a "large knife" in Midtown Thursday afternoon.
The suspect rode up and attacked the victim at 54th Street and Park Avenue at about 5 p.m., NYPD and FDNY spokesmen said.
The victim then walked to 59th Street and Third Avenue where someone called 911.
He was taken to Saint Luke's Roosevelt Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
Investigators did not yet know if the slashing was random and there were no immediate arrests.
The attack happened shortly after an Uber driver was slashed on West 50th Street in a road rage incident.
Police do not believe the two incidents are connected.
