CHELSEA — A scammer who promised to get a woman a table at popular nightclub 1Oak in exchange for $1,800 took the cash but fled without following through, the NYPD said.

The 28-year-old victim told police she met the man at a bar near Little West 12th Street in the Meatpacking District around 1 a.m. on Sept. 15.

At the bar, the suspect told her he could get her into the club at 453 W. 17th St. and secure a table for her if she forked over $1,800, police said.

The man led the woman to the sidewalk outside Artichoke Basille’s Pizza next door to 1Oak, where she handed him the cash, the NYPD said.

After pocketing the money, the man fled on foot.

Police hadn’t arrested anyone in connection with the incident as of Wednesday, and the club didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
