HELL’S KITCHEN — A 9-year-old boy playing soccer died after a goal post he was hanging from collapsed on him, police and reports said.

The boy, Tommaso Cerase of the Upper West Side, was at the Park West Educational Campus at 525 W. 50th St., between 10th and 11th avenues, on Sunday when the incident happened, the NYPD said.

Police responding to the scene found Cerase unresponsive with severe head trauma around 10:09 a.m.

Emegency responders took the boy to Mount Sinai West, where he was pronounced dead, the NYPD said.

His death was caused by blunt impact injuries of the head and was ruled an accident, the city's Chief Medical Examiner said Tuesday.

The boy was reportedly playing soccer during a practice run by Juventus Academy New York when the accident happened.

The academy's website says it hosts weekly clinics on Sundays in the gym at Food and Finance High School, which is one of the schools located the Park West Educational Campus building.

Juventus Academy didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment Monday morning.

"This tragic incident is heartbreaking and our thoughts are with this student’s family and school community during this devastating time,” Schools Chancellor Carmen Fariña said in a statement Sunday.
